Ms Myers Classroom Policies
1. Each student will be assigned a numbered textbook to borrow for the semester.
2. Students must bring pencils, pens, and paper to class.
3. Parents or students may contact the teacher at (613) 822-7900 mailbox 566 during regular school hours. The parent will be contacted by the Teacher, as needed, to improve the educational opportunities of the student. Please refer to the student agenda for reporting dates and other important event dates at St. Francis Xavier High School.
4. The teacher will provide extra help/time for students when needed. The student must make the arrangements with the teacher in advance. If the student has an IEP, and requires extra time and support, they are encouraged to schedule their tests or CPT's with their resource teacher.
Use of Technology in the Classroom
Students may be permitted to use Smart Phones/laptops/tablets for educational purposes only and this will be teacher approved and directed. If the cell phone/device becomes a problem, students will be asked to return their device to their locker.
Attendance/Tests/Assignment Submission
1. Students are expected to attend class daily, to be punctual and to fully participate in all classroom activities.
2. Students must give the teacher adequate notice of absence due to extra-curricular activities and must take the initiative to catch up on missed course work before or upon return.
3. If a student is to be away the day of a test, their parent/guardian must call the school to approve their absence on the day of the test. If they miss a test without an approved absence or direct communication with the teacher, a 0 will be given.
4. Computer problems are not accepted as a reason for a late assignment. If a student is absent APPROVED on the day an assignment is due they must submit it before the start of school the following day . THIS IS MY POLICY. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. .If a student submits an assignment past the due date, the teacher will take into account the additional time required for completing the assignment.
